Re: WAP as reverse proxy for SFB 2019 without ADFS
harveer singh Hello, yes ADFS is a required to use the Web Application Proxy although no authentication services are used by Skype for Business itself. The following document details this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/troubleshoot/active-directory/set-up-adfs-for-single-sign-on --------------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup7.3KViews1like1CommentRe: Call in number
WIAuto Hello, you will need to purchase the Audio Conferencing add-on license for your Office 365 subscription. Once purchased, this will inject an audio conferencing dial in number for your region, into any meeting invites you generate through Outlook, for example. ----------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Lync 2013 on-premises to Teams migration- Minimum Edge server version
DayneJake Hello, I'd recommend you always run the latest Cumulative Update as over time Microsoft have added new PowerShell commands to aid with the migration of on-premises objects. For example, in the July 2017 CU they added Move-CsMeetingRoom and New-CsHybridApplicationEndpoint. In most of the hybrid orientated documentation you will normally find a line stating they recommend that the latest CU is installed. Thanks. ------------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroupRe: Edge external certificate - No domain name
Tech10 Hi Syed, thanks for the update. The domain name on it's own is not required on the certificate, you only need the service specific names such as sip.abc.com and webconf.abc.com, there is no need to just have abc.com specified on the certificate. I hope this helps. ------------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup851Views0likes0CommentsRe: Is reverse Proxy required for external web
Jean Philippe Breton Hi John, yes it is recommended that a reverse proxy is used and for external web services, this is the supported route. Whilst performing port forwarding on the firewall can achieve the desired result this does also cause a security concern, reverse proxy's are often deployed in a DMZ between the internet and the front end server itself. If your Fortigate does not have built in reverse proxy functionality, you can use the Web Application Proxy which is a part of Windows Server. ------------------ https://www.siplifi.com/ | @SiplifiGroup1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Is a Reverse Proxy really required ?

93Imagine Hello, if you have the Monitoring Reports role installed there is a report contained within this called the "User Registration" report, this will tell you which accounts last logged into Skype for Business. If you don't have this deployed, it's reasonably fast to roll out however requires a Microsoft SQL Server (not express) with SQL Reporting Services available. Here's some more information on the role: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/manage/health-and-monitoring/monitoring-reports ------------------ https:///www.siplifi.com | @SiplifiGroup5.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Stopping 'Skype for business' window opening when PC
Nick_H_UK Hi Nick, when the Skype for Business client loads, click the small cog in the top right hand corner to open it's settings screen. Then on the left hand side click "Personal" and in the list of settings just under the My Account section, there is a check box that says "Automatically start the app when I log on to Windows", un-check this box and click OK. This should stop Skype for Business auto starting on login. --------------------------- https://siplifi.com | @SiplifiGroup941Views0likes0CommentsRe: SfB OnPrem to Te
msabat Hello, yes you can go into the Teams Admin Centre and then under org wide settings you can select "Resource Accounts" and then create them. For number assignment, you will need to use PowerShell as this cannot be done through the admin centre yet. Thanks. --------------- https://www.siplifi.com | @SiplifiGroupRe: Lync 2013 to S4B Online
Hello, yes calling plans are only supported in certain regions and countries in the world. A better option for you would be Direct Routing, whereby you can present your existing PSTN connectivity to Microsoft Teams via a certified Session Border Controller (SBC). Let me know if you need more information. ----------------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroupRe: SfB OnPrem to Te
Yes, once all existing users have been migrated, any new Active Directory users could be created in Azure AD. If you're maintaining an on-premise domain controller, my recommendation would be to still create user accounts there. Thanks. --------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroupRe: Teams - pop ups for incoming calls
Hi Daniel, this could be achieved a few ways. You may be able to use the Graph API to develop a similar integration or you could invest in a third party application which provides the ability to query another application when a call is answered: Graph API: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/resources/teams-api-overview?view=graph-rest-1.0 Workstreampeople: https://anywhere365.io/direct-routing-contact-center-for-microsoft-teams/ -------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup11KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Calls through Teams
Hi Daniel, to unlock the Phone System features, depending on the size of your organisation you would either need a Phone System license per user or Business Voice without a calling plan license per user. This would need to be complimented with a supported direct routing SBC as Satish said and a SIP trunk. ------------------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup1.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: SBC inbound calls problems
Hi Hercross, have you made sure that the SBC is sending calls to Teams in an E.164 format? For example a UK number should be +44123456789. The number the SBC sends must match the number assigned against the user and this should be in an E.164 format. Thanks. -------------- https://www.siplifi.com | SiplifiGroup4.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Common Area Phone (CAP) and simultaneous ring
Hi, yes you can assign a Direct Routing number to a Common Area Phone using the normal Set-CsUser command with the -OnPremLineURI parameter. For a CAP you need to create a normal Office 365 user account in order to apply the CAP license. In reference to the call forwarding, I cannot see this being an issue if you use a Teams native IP phone. In the phones firmware under the "Calling" section you can set forwarding actions if unanswered to another contact or number. I hope this helps.4.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: Users status offline after Interop update
Hi Ben, how long have they waited for Office 365 propagation to occur? We've seen similar ourselves whereby the change has been made and whilst the users can sign in, their presence shows offline. In our case, we waited around 12 hours and user presence then started to show correctly, this is consistent with replication within Office 365.556Views0likes0Comments
