Highlighted Content Web Part (HCWP) filter logic
As I understand it, if you use multiple filter conditions in a HCWP, the conditions are evaluated as OR's when filtering on the same parameter (e.g., Title = ABC OR Title = XYZ), and the filter conditions are evaluated as AND's when filtering on different parameters (e.g., Title = ABC AND Created by = Current User). It appears, based on my limited testing, that this filtering logic also applies when filtering on multiple managed properties. In this instance I want to filter on RefinableDate00 and RefinableString00. Since these are different managed properties, I was hoping they would be evaluated using AND logic (Date is after [Today] AND String = ABC); however, it appears that the conditions are instead being evaluated as OR's (Date is after [Today] OR String = ABC). I think Microsoft should upgrade the HCWP to allow users to specify how multiple filters should be evaluated.Site Script Action Limit
Microsoft's documentation states: We'd previously capped the limit of site script actions to 30. This remains the limit for scripts applied synchronously using the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/sharepoint-online/Invoke-SPOSiteDesign?view=sharepoint-ps command, but based on customer feedback and support for additional actions we have bumped this limit to 300 actions (or 100,000 characters) when the scripts are applied asynchronously (either through the UI or using the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/sharepoint-online/Add-SPOSiteDesignTask?view=sharepoint-ps command). I created a script that has more than 30 actions, and indeed the Invoke-SPOSiteDesign command does not work; however, the Add-SPOSiteDesignTask does work. I assume that ..."through the UI" in the statement above refers to creating a site using the Create Site button in SharePoint. When I use the Create Site button with my design that contains the +30 action script. It does not work. I just get the message that it is Initializing, but nothing ever happens. If I cancel out of the operation and then use the PowerShell Add-SPOSiteDesignTask command, the design is applied as expected. What does Microsoft mean by "...through the UI"?2.6KViews0likes2CommentsSite Scripts and Hyperlink/Picture Site Columns
I am developing a site script to create some site columns and content types. Mostly it is working OK, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to use the createSiteColumnXml verb to create a hyperlink/picture field. First I tried this: "schemaXml": "<Field Type=\"Url\" DisplayName=\"MsgImage\" Required=\"FALSE\" Format=\"Image\" StaticName=\"MsgImage\" Name=\"MsgImage\" Group=\"_ActsCustom\"></Field>" That didn't work. After some additional research I thought maybe I needed to include a value for ID, so I generated a GUID and changed it to: "schemaXml": "<Field Type=\"Url\" DisplayName=\"MsgImage\" Required=\"FALSE\" Format=\"Image\" StaticName=\"MsgImage\" Name=\"MsgImage\" Group=\"_ActsCustom\" ID=\"{23ed08db-f248-42ef-9ea7-d615fdeca8c2}\"></Field>" That fails as well. Any ideas how I should modify this to make it work?2.2KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Column formatting not showing when view shown in a List Web Part (Modern Page and List)
Hi Lincoln, Not sure if this has rolled out yet, but custom list views had been working OK in list web parts (except for classes - had to directly apply styles instead); however, today I noticed that column headings are now being shown in the web parts. They weren't appearing yesterday, and I haven't changed anything on my end. This is happening in multiple tenants. Is this something that is going to be corrected (soon I hope)? Thanks LincolnDeMaris21KViews0likes0CommentsModern SharePoint List Web Parts and Custom View/Column Formatting
I have created a number of custom list views, using the column formatting and view formatting capabilities, and used the modern list view web part to insert these custom views into modern SharePoint pages. This had been working perfectly until today. I noticed that the custom views shown in the web parts are displaying column headings even though I have the column headings hidden in the custom view ("hideColumnHeader": true,). When I look at the list itself, the column headings are hidden, but they show up in the web part. This is happening on multiple tenants. Anybody else having this issue?1.2KViews0likes2Comments
