Re: Microsoft Search in Bing
ScottSegarra I have a few ongoing problems with Bing and using the feedback feature over the past few years has had no effect. It assumes your American and doesn't prioritise results from the user's country. It serves up ancient results on technological queries. It only uses a random subset of the query. This is intensely annoying as about half my searches turn up irrelevant junk. For example with the query "pin to start not working windows 10" the highlighted result "7 Ways to Fix the Windows PIN Not Working in Windows 10" can only have been arrived at if the word start was ignored. All those extra words are there to narrow not broaden the search. Once this happens the only option is to give up and go to Google. Quotation marks should provide a get out but are ignored as well.980Views0likes0CommentsRe: Open in new tab
Alyxe Hi, Thanks for looking. I am using Edge Dev (89.0.723.0 ) with uBlock Origin installed but disabled for Bing. It used to be the case that Bing overrode Ctrl Click, but now the right click menu has gone as well. I just tried, and it is Bing specific and doesn't happen on Google. I am in the UK so it might be the site is regionalised.1.7KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for December 1
MissyQ Hi, There was no mention of the "open in new tab" issues. Currently the website is able to block both right click and Ctrl click, and sites such as MSN abuse this issue to make life difficult for anyone clicking on an advertising link. I can't see any reason for the website to be able override the user's explicit intention.4.4KViews0likes6CommentsRe: What's new in Shopping
Alyxe Bing shopping links don't work for me so I never use it. I can click as much as I want but the best I can get is an enlarged picture of the product. Really frustrating. The entire advertising thing on Bing is frustrating as ads in the search results are differently borked and opening in a new tab has been blocked.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsOpen in new tab
Adverts on the search result tab now forbid "open in new tab". I accept that this is partly a browser bug, but assume that you are also to blame. As a user this is really annoying, and forces me to find a non-advert link to the same site. Why not let me click on it in the way I want?1.8KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Edge Engineers available to talk with you on Feb 27th @ 11:00 a.m. PST
Elliot Kirk One issue I have found is that Ctrl click doesn't work on some links. An easy example is adverts in the Bing search page. As a user this is infuriating as I then have to click back, right click and select an option.4.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Importing Tabs and Settings from Chrome
I have just had a user setup a new laptop and while I convinced him he didn't need to install Chrome this left the difficulty of getting all his Chrome favourites without installing it. A way to sign in and download favourites would be useful.69KViews1like0CommentsRe: Provide different options for sorting favorites - Discussion
Elliot Kirk For me it would be more useful to sort by date added. I appreciate this information may not exist. My usage is reviewing old favourites with a view to removing those that are no longer needed. Highlighting favourites that are now broken links would potentially also be useful.6.1KViews1like2CommentsRe: Provide run / open / save / save as options when downloading files - Discussion
WolfIcefang You seem to have a really nice idea there. It preserves the speed of the current system while allowing the run/save as functionality with minimal user interaction. I hadn't noticed the functionality was missing but this is definitely an improvement.5.2KViews3likes0CommentsRe: Improve discoverability of the home button since some users are asking for it - Discussion
Elliot Kirk Until I saw this discussion I hadn't noticed the lack of a home button. I think it has been superseded by the quick links on a new tab, but can understand other people's usage is different. Your strategy seems to be the right one.6.6KViews0likes3CommentsRe: When will Focus inbox support rollout for Imap Accounts?
Thanks. That solves the mystery of why it works on some devices and not others. The Windows 10 Mail client is evidently still awaiting an update that Outlook for Android already has. Unfortunately I prefer the built in mail client to Outlook.3.1KViews0likes0Comments
