Back in my college days, I often had to reinstall the operating system on my PC because it would either blue screen or fail to boot properly. This was during the time I used Windows 98 and ME. However, I haven't encountered such issues in recent years. I can't even remember needing to reinstall Windows 10 or 11 on my laptop. Typically, I just do an in-place upgrade. Documenting any audit and compliance related steps that you will be doing in your organization such as enabling logs, savings logs and retention etc. Documenting any automation related tasks such as batch jobs, backups etc. Document key architecture diagrams for your databases such as cluster information, dns names, IPs etc. Documenting regular maintenance tasks / operations tasks such as restarting services related to databases. This is a good start for transitioning your career. First option would be to see if you can transition within the company to Cloud Engineer roles if you have internally this would be a soother ones since moving within the companies is much easier than moving outside. If not will suggest you start reading the job posting on Azure Cloud engineer roles which will be mostly focused on operations that would be on deployment of resources through automation such as ARM, Bicep etc. Also familiarize yourself with storage, networking and security tools and techniques used in organizations.
