Re: Cannot open sharepoint files in app depending on date
Sorry Joao, for my late answer. I did not get any information on a new entry here. I have settled with "Open in Web mode / Save as new file / delete old file". Little bit of unnecessary work, but I won't wait for additional ideas. Thansk you.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Cannot open sharepoint files in app depending on date
I have a subscription for Microsoft 365 for Enterprise. I can open any file online without problems. I have done this with a few files and used "save as" to create a copy with a new name. The copy can then be opened in app mode without problems.1.5KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Cannot open sharepoint files in app depending on date
This refers to all types of files: DOCX, XLSX, PPTX The old laptop was running Office 365 at 64 bit just like the new one. No macros involved. I am a freelancer, so there is no administrator involved except myself. No settings changed. I have a third laptop with Windows 11 (just for test purposes) and everything runs well on this one, too.1.6KViews0likes4CommentsCannot open sharepoint files in app depending on date
I have switched to a new laptop. Running Windows 10. Installed everything I needed. For Office I used the installer from Microsoft 365. Now, when I try to open a sharepoint file in app mode, I get an error message very often. BUT: This happens only to files that were uploaded into sharepoint (or modified) in a certain date range (which I can not identify). Happens for all my sharepoint sites. Very old files: No problem! Save a new file to any sharepoint folder: No problem! Download a file and resave under a different name: No problem, can be opened in app mode from then on. Open file in web mode: No problem! As a walkaround I could of course download all the problem files and resave them. But that would mean many, many hours of work. All I noticed during my investigation is that the new laptop has a slightly newer office version than the old one that still works perfectly. Anybody have an idea how to solve this? Thanks in advance for any hints you could give me. Joern.Solved2KViews0likes8Comments
