Reply to email in thread folder using IMAP id goes to that folder+Sent but BCC does not go to inbox.
Using the latest MS maintained version of an Office 365 subscription: Replying to a message that is in a folder of a .pst file for the thread discussions, having selected the message in the folder. That message came in via an IMAP gmail account, and the reply is going to another id using the email id that the original was received from. CC is set to get associated staff informed of the conversation. BCC is set so the reply will be automatically recorded in the inbox, and so forwarded to an email archive id. The reply gets posted: Into the folder from which the original message was selected for the reply. Into the Sent folder of the account used as the "From" for the reply. To the indicated "To" id. To the indicated "CC" id. BUT not to the inbox of the specified BCC id. Settings for sent emails are ticked for the SENT folder, and ticked for the Storage folder of the message being replied to. Basic concept - Messages in inbox (IMAP) - for action (with auto forward to the archive id) Messages grouped as conversation threads (a .pst on the PC ) of the project. Messages sent, are also posted (via the BCC) into the archive IMAP account where they are held as backup record. So - can anyone detail how Outlook may be set to actually post the BCC, or is it show the received Blind Copy ?537Views0likes0CommentsRe: emails are disapperaing from outlook 365 for business accout immediately after being recieved
That some emails were being quarantined on your system indicated that you were being targeted, or at least being sent malware. So it may well be that at least one of the attempts was successful, and your system has been got-at. With the result that the emails you are sending may be infected. So the recipients systems are quarantining them, or just deleted if that is what their system is set to do. Or their ISP is detecting the inappropriate content and either putting them in the ISP (IMAP) Spam, or Junk folder (probably with a 30 day retention before they get deleted, or just deleting them as it finds them. That the emails shows for a short period in their emails indicates their PC has some anti-malware processing set - maybe whatever they have installed to help protect their system, or built-in actions associated with Windows security, or Outlook settings. I would start by using a browser based app to view your emails and see if that shows the wanted emails, or some are missing. Then, maybe doing a full scan with your protection app, As well as asking those with missing emails to check if their, or their ISP's systems are finding malware, or what MS deem "UNSAFE" content. If you have a "Sig" block it may be that there is something in that. and, from experience ISP checking may be identifying innocuous entries as malware, or - for those not getting the email at all, you or your ISP may have been blacklisted as a (now known) malware source.2.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Migrate Thunderbird to Outlook
You will have to setup each email account in Outlook. As IMAP it should show all the folders in the IMAP email account. HOWEVER, Some email facility suppliers have a process of "Attaching labels" to the email - so all are actually in the inbox. Others (Like Outlook) actually manage the emails in separate folders. When you setup another POP3 email-id in outlook, you can associate with any of those already setup, so the messages all go to the same inbox. You may want to have a POP3 setup for an email id so you can copy emails from the IMAP ones into folders that are held in .pst files on your Windows device, I set the download/read to leave downloaded messages on the server, and just download new messages, adding them to the inbox. Those are retained with what gets downloaded as POP3 or you copy/move into them. ( maybe setup a file for the inbox, outbox, junk, Sent, + any you still have to take action on. and another file for messages that you want to keep as archive, or history - such as from a bank.) IMAP go into an .ost file and that is one per email id, with them being synchronised at outlook setup. Seems that sets the Default id for created messages to the one at the top of the list of accounts rather than allowing you to click on any in the list.- and you may want to keep RSS feeds on Thunderbird until you get them working in outlook. You can set the email messages to be forwarded to other accounts, but sent messages will not be forwarded unless you get them also sent to the other email id. Hopefully someone else will respond with some more detail, or caveats, I am posting from the viewpoint of having the POP3 email I used and managed in Outlook having to be replaced by a new one and starting to use Thunderbird for that and RSS feeds.51KViews0likes0CommentsOutlook just stopped Syncing most RSS feeds
I have found that the outlook on my system has stopped updating the RSS Feeds from the Microsoft forums OK - Just to confuse the situation, it is still doing a couple of the feeds. The only change to the setup - Basic win-10-Home, and Family 365 since it was working as wanted are: updates installed by Microsoft, and I went into "Accounts" "Accounts" and moved the top id entry down, so that instead of the Virginmedia.co.uk account, my gmail.com account was the default ! OK, I did setup the Outlook under an @virginmedia account, and was logged in using that when I added the RSS feeds, but should that matter with feeds from microsoft forums such as "Outlook Blog articles" And while entering this I also note that most of the feeds entries are not showing a folder, So I have changed the one to use a new folder in the .pst file, well, maybe that will gat a new post So - is this a known problem ? And Does anyone know of an easy solution ?1.1KViews0likes0Comments
