Timeline to complete Bing Chat Enterprise rebranding
Hi, The name change from Bing Chat Enterprise (BCE) to “Copilot” has been done for the URL copilot.microsoft.com, but the URL bing.com/chat still displays the old title “Bing Chat Enterprise”. Is there an estimated time frame for completing the name change to “Copilot”? I ask this question because it makes the documentation to users a bit confusing. Hello, I have been a Copilot user in Edge for a long time and I have encountered the same issue repeatedly. I decided to share it here in case there is a solution for it. Whenever I click on the Copilot icon in the upper right corner of Edge, I often start typing my query without noticing that the cursor is not active in the text box. Then I have to type everything again. Would it be possible to make the text box of the Copilot in Edge automatically focused after the panel opens? I think that would be a reasonable expectation for someone who opens the panel, as they probably want to type something.SolvedBCE need port 80 open for sydney.bing.com!
The Bing Chat Enterprise FAQ page mention the following: For Bing Chat Enterprise to work, you need to allowlist the following: *.bing.com port 443 and port 80 for sydney.bing.com Can we have more details on what specific information BCE is exchanging to sydney.bing.com over port 80?SolvedExpected GA Release Date for BCE
In its current "Preview" state, BCE requires users to consent to the "Preview Version" of its Terms, which can be found here. Notably, a specific sentence within the Preview Version of the Terms for BCE reads as follows: "You acknowledge and agree that BCE is being provided to you in preview and may therefore have limited or differing security, compliance, and privacy commitments." This clause effectively overrides any guarantees provided by Microsoft concerning Data, Privacy, and Security that would otherwise apply to BCE until it reaches General Availability (GA).This renders corporate Privacy & Security teams somewhat cautious about authorizing the use of BCE's Preview version in any live production environment. Do we have any information on the projected or official date for the GA release of BCE? Will BCE become GA at the same time as M365 Copilot (November 1st)? ThanksBCE Require Bing Ads to be enabled in Edge
Since the release of BCE, we have struggled with enterprise users being unable to access the BCE web interface from within MS Edge for Business on their company Windows laptop. The users were repeatedly presented with the welcome Bing Chat splash screen. BCE, however, worked fine everywhere else: within Edge Sidebar, Chrome, iOS (Edge/Bing)... just not on their local Windows PC. After many tests, we were finally able to identify the exact cause of this issue. Since we've never seen this mentioned explicitly in Microsoft documentation or other forums, I thought I would post it here to help others facing the same challenge. We currently have a policy (GPO/Intune) that disables ads for Bing. The exact setting configured is: BingAdsSuppression=True. When this is set to True, enterprise users cannot access BCE from MS Edge with their work account (although, bizarrely, it works if logged into Bing with both a consumer Microsoft account AND a work account). Conclusion: If you encounter an issue with accessing BCE within MS Edge, ensure, as part of your troubleshooting steps, that your company does not have a policy in place that disables Bing Ads. I hope this helps someoneSolved
