SharePoint Site Update Issue while working under AAM

Copper Contributor

My team and I are stuck on a very odd bug I haven't experienced before. Currently when we make edits in SharePoint utilizing the FQDN (https://servname.domain.org) the edits work fine and there is no issue. When we go over under the AAM on the exact same site (https://prettyurl.domain.org) the site does not save the edits. The easiest test we have found is when we are trying to edit Navigation on a published enabled site through site settings or creating a new group. We fill in all the information and it flashes the screen and proceeds to the homepage rather than the current page you are on. The logs are not much help except for these three, but I am not sure they are related:

Failure when fetching document. 0x80070012

Template Discovery/InitScriptData: cannot get user profile, no UserProfileApplicationProxy exists in the current context

Access Denied: PreSendRequestHeaders, insufficient permission.

Alternate access mappings have not been configured. Users or services are accessing the site https://prettyname.name.org with the URL https://servername.domain.org. This may cause incorrect links to be stored or returned to users.  For more information, see: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=114854"/>
