Project Online Desktop activation key requested despite Azure license on account

Hello,

I have a Project Plan 3 license assigned to my azure account in addition to Office A3. Project desktop app is also checked.

I did install it from office portal but when I launch the app and select Computer as profile it asks for license key. Is this normal? If so, how can I get the key. IT Admin doesn't know and believes license in Azure is sufficient. I tried to set the sharepoint PWA url as instructed in ms docs but cannot manage accounts in the app (error trying to execute macro when I click on the button).

Note that project for the web (project.microsoft.com) works fine for me.

Thanks for your insights.

Sylvain

I might be wrong about this, but the behavior of Microsoft Project that you describe makes me think that you somehow installed the perpetual license version of Microsoft Project, rather than the subscription version of the tool. In your copy of the software, click the File tab and then click the Account tab in the Backstage. On the right side of the page, you should see something like I see in my copy of Microsoft Project.  Do you see what I see?  If not, you will need to uninstall Microsoft Project and then navigate to Office.com.  Log into Office.com with your user account and then download and install the Microsoft Project software from there.  Let us know what you find.
