Project in Project for the web as subproject
Hi all,
Is it possible to :
- Make a Project for the web be the subproject in a MPP Project Desktop ?
- Make a Project for the web be the subproject in a Project Online ?
Thank you
Fred

- Fred -- The answer is "no" to both of your questions. Sorry, but hope this helps.

Dale, after additionnal investigations, it looks that we can export P4TW data to Excel and then MS Project can import the content of this Excel file. I tried this but there are several manual steps to be performed and in the end it was not very convenient.
I was wondering if Power Automate (or other tool) could assist in this conversion ?
Thank you
Fred

The truth is that Microsoft Project and Project Online do not "talk" with Project for the Web, and vice versa. They are different tools that are built on different platforms and work differently in the background. I, too, have tried exporting a Project for the Web project to an Excel workbook and then importing the workbook into Microsoft Project, but Microsoft Project does not seem to recognize the native format of the exported workbook in Excel. I was only able to use the Import Wizard in Microsoft Project to import the Excel workbook after I had copied and pasted the workbook values into a new blank workbook. After that, I was able to successfully import the exported Excel workbook.
Regarding Power Automate, I have never tried that approach, but I would encourage you to do so. And then please let us know the results!
