Configure a default view in Project

Hi!

We are testing Project in our work team. We are used to Planner; transition should go well.

We are using the web version of Project (in part because I can't find my Project created online in the Desktop version; in part because not all the team has a paid licence for now, but they must be able to access the tasks in the Planner-like views).

I have two main annoyances with Project so far.

First : I must refresh the page multiple times a day, which wasn't the case in Planner. If I don't refresh, I can't do anything; everything is greyed. And when I refresh, I lose all my filters.

I guess I can't solve the refresh issue, so I wonder if I can at least create a personalize default view, which includes all the filters I use 99% of the time, so at least, each time I refresh the page, I find back this view?

Thanks.

There is no way to configure a default View in Project for the Web. Sorry, but hope this helps.

JoDio If you are using a Planner Premium in a named instance you can create custom views and change the default Project view.  I haven't tried it, but you I would expect you can do the same for Programs and Project Requests views.

Set Default View - Select new default view, then click Set as default view

    Create New Project View -
This requires familiarity with PowerApps and that you have the privileges to modify solutions.

Use my advice below as reference only and try this in a test environment as your results may vary.

    1. Go to Power Apps Home page and select your environment
    2. Click Solutions
    3. Open the Ribbon - Customization solution
    4. Expand Tables, Project then select View
    5. Click + New view, enter Name and Description then click Create
    6. Add columns to view
    7. Set Sort by and Filters on the right
    8. Click Validate.  Fix any report issues and revalidate
    9. Click Save and Publish
    10. Return to Power Apps Home page select Apps then open your Project app
    11. Click on Plans then open the view dropdown and the new view should be present.
