MS form to list item and user permissions

Copper Contributor

Hi

was looking for some help with this , we currently have some forms that users will complete and then a flow will copy the Form data to a SharePoint list,  but i would like to have the user who created the form to have access to the list item so as they can have the ability to update or change it when needed. they owner of the list item is the Flow process , so the usual "Item level permissions" dont seem to work

i have found this workaround but its been a bit flaky, as in its works for some users and not others , or just doesn't show anything , and was wondering if there was another option or solution anyone was using  :

Allow users to view/edit only thier list elements created using form - Microsoft Community Hub

thanks

Solution

@Patrick Rooney You can break list item permissions after you create an item in the SharePoint list and then grant access to user for that particular list item. You will need email address of the user from same tenant.

Check links given in my answer here for setting permissions from Power automate flow: Restrict user access
