Can you planner without creating a group?

I would like to use planner as my individual task management tool without having to create a group, is this something that's possible?

  • Hi! No unfortunately not! Although you don’t have to utilize the other group features. I recommend you to check out Microsoft To-Do which is a personal to do service in Office365

If you're worried about Group sprawl you can ask Microsoft to make Planner licence enforced. It's not presently so anyone with a syncd account in your org can create a plan (and Group) from tasks.office.com despite not having a licence, any licence.
