Attaching Local File Location to Planner TAsk

We work with reading and reviewing PDF forms, making markups, and signing off. As there is no way of editing a PDF on sharepoint and having it update live like the Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc programs, I would like to place a link to our company's network drive. I am able to send a link in a Microsoft Outlook e-mail, but cannot add a link that works to the online version of planner. Please advise on a work around!

@Zachary Frey, Currently Planner supports only https link and if you want to add local link in task , you may use Description or Comments in the task. I would recommend you to vote for this feature in planner user voice
