Reply and Delete option in Web Outlook?

Copper Contributor

In the desktop version of Outlook, you can select "Reply and Delete" option from Quick Steps.

How can I replicate this in the Web Outlook version?

Maybe this information can help you.

Automate common or repetitive tasks with Quick Steps

Hi @DaisyPetals,

you cannot do that in OWA. If you are ready to pay, hire somebody to create an add-in for OWA that implements this functionality.

You are right, I wrote faster than I thought :)). Didn't look closely that it was OWA.

@Victor Ivanidze

Thank you. I expected that to be the case. It's a pity.

@DaisyPetals

I found the solution in Outlook for the Web.  You must enable "Delete invitation and responses that have been updated".

  • Navigate to Calendar
  • Settings Icon | View All Settings
  • Choose:  Calendar | Events and Invitations
  • Under Invitations from other people, add a checkmark by
    • Delete invitation and responses that have been updated
    • Optional: Delete notifications about forwarded events.

Once you respond to the original email, the email is deleted and your response is saved in the Sent Folder.
I tested and confirmed.

Hi @Teresa_Cyrus,

unfortunately your suggestion just doesn't work for emails.

It looks logical as you have mentioned the options for Calendar.

Did you try to reply to an email in Inbox?

This article is for Outlook Web App

Options > Automatic Replies

Forward or redirect your email messages by setting up Inbox rules in Outlook Web App.

Use rules in Outlook Web App to automatically forward messages to another account

Nikolino,
I took a look at the above links and they do not answer my query, which is that in the Outlook Desktop version, it is possible to select 'Reply & delete' within Quick Steps.
But thank you for trying to help.

Victor, she did not mention email or calendar event. So I provided at least one alternative method that MS offers.
Teresa, she said '"Reply and Delete" option from Quick Steps'. That's enough to understand she means the emails.
