Outlook 2016 Hangs on Synchronizing Folders
I just MAY have solved it. Over time, Outlook 2016 (32) desktop accumulated deleted draft messages. In other words, there were an increasing number messages showing in my Drafts folder that had a cross-out through them. I couldn't delete them from within Outlook. BUT, when I went into my email account through the server (i.e., webmail) I went into that Draft folder, and all the messages were gone. So then I went back into Outlook and those pesky deleted drafts disappeared. I went back into webmail, and just opened each folder in my email account, just to be sure. When I then went back to Outlook, everything seemed to be cleaned up and I have not had Outlook hang since!
Did you ever check the Sync issues folder? You need to switch to the folder list (ctrl+6) to see it. It can give you clues to which folders have issues syncing.
Empty the sync issues folder on a regular basis - they don't sync up but you don't need the issues message either.

Diane_Poremsky_MVP I emptied the Synchronizing folder but it was still frozen on synchronizing inbox.

jam414 emptying it won't fix the problem, that just gets rid of the old items. Look at the newest messages - any red lines? if so, paste a couple here, including the line or two before each set of red lines.

Diane_Poremsky_MVP Hey Diane I am having the same issues. My Inbox and trash folders are the culprits. Below are some of those red lines.
21:59:06 Synchronizer Version 16.0.13530.20432
21:59:06 Synchronizing Mailbox 'mgeorgevich1959@gmail.com'
21:59:06 Synchronizing local changes in folder 'Trash'
21:59:10 Error synchronizing message 'Undeliverable: Emailing: CCNA_200-301_Master_Class_-_LIVE_Sessio'
21:59:10 [800CCCD3-0-0-322]
21:59:12 1 item(s) added to online folder
21:59:13 Done
The thing is that I cannot find this email it is referring to. It keeps saying undeliverable. Thanks for any help.
