Advertisements at top of email messages in Outlook app on mobile device
Microsoft Support (Service Request Number 7051460083) asked me to post this technical question here.
For the past month or so, my mobile device Outlook App shows an advertisement at the top of my email messages. When I go to Settings, Help & Feedback, Contact Outlook mobile support/Collect Diagnostics Data (continue)/Why am I seeing ads?/I'm a paid subscriber and I'm seeing ads/ the system shows me two situations:
* You have not added your Microsoft account to Outlook that is tied to your Microsoft 365 subscription
* The email address you have added to Outlook is not connected to your Microsoft 365 account. This also includes Microsoft accounts that use third-party email addresses, such as @gmail.com or @yahoo.com
I have checked my Microsoft account, and indeed, my email address is attached to my account. It is not an outlook.com email account.
I really don't want to have to use focused-view, nor do I want to add an outlook email address again. Your guidance would be appreciated.

Although recommended by Microsoft support, this forum might not be the appropriate place for my post below, and if so, I apologise for wasting your space.
In the meantime, I have solved the problem! I deleted the Outlook app from my mobile device, and installed the gmail app, which functions perfectly without adding an annoying advertisement on top of my messages. Life is good again!
