I presume my issue has something to do with Hybrid AAD, as I don't encounter such latency problem in Azure AD only devices.

Thanks for that link. I need to get this setup so it's helpful. If I get to it soon I'll see if I'm experiencing the same issues.

    You can also configure OneDrive using the new Intune Administrative Template configuration policy. I gave it a try last week it didn’t work and I had no time to troubleshoot
