OneDrive issues in Explorer - OneDrive v.: 22.151.0717.0001 - Windows 11 build: 22622.450 - Integrat

Hi all,

I don't know if anyone else has this, but I have the same challenges on 2 computers (on the same builds, Windows 11 (beta) and OneDrive (some kind of beta/last insider build)... :sleepy_face:🫣

The issue:

OneDrive in Explorer is not working.

That have i tryed:

  • %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

  • Uninstall of OneDrive (and letovers in regedit), then installed no last public v. (and its upgrade after to the Insider..)

  • In-place upgrade Windows 11 build

  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and so on (no errors found)

  • sfc /scannow (no errors found)

  • Looked at information in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{04271989-C4D2-2599-4DDB-8B6D1AF09056} (my ID for OneDrive for B), HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ for if looks fine -
    The default for "OneDrive" is there fine to: {018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}, System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree = 1 (and I see it in explorer)

  • The tool here: escuelainformatica/CleanExplorer: This little application cleans the explorer (github.com) (just to see), can see it - the other i have can i hide/show correct. All is fine there...

After some restarts, i cant access files there is not jet downloaded (use files on demand). If I try that, i got this error (translated: Wrong parameter):

In i try to access "OneDrive" in navigation pane I got this and a empty folder:

2022-08-05_10-44-09.png

Translated: "There was a problem with the view of this folder - Try again"

Before i got this errors, I got this, and when I pressed on "OK" I got some GUID in the path bar:

295458702_591952865613791_7056015767947562364_n.png

Translated: The file is not accociated to an app to process this task. Install an app. If there is an app installed, you need to create the accociating in Settings for default apps" (not 100% translated, not know the Microsoft edition).

Does anyone have a hint for this?

Not seen this before, and not know if i had got an bug with last beta build/OneDrive build?

(Had fine used Windows 11 build: 22621/Windows 11 build: 22622 before and now nothing here works....)

What's happening right here in a new fresh install of Windows 11!

Hi Michael, it looks like there are issues with OneDrive version 22.151.0717.0001. For this reason we have switched to the Deferred Ring:

First we set REG Keys as described here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy

Then we installed OneDrive from the Deferred Ring:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5f...

So far we have not received any negative feedback.

Greetings
Klaus

@KlausRieser

Update for today:

I have an open case with Microsoft, and I had send some logs and other stuff i await a response on.
I have a PC with the last v. on, and one (there is broken in a clean install too) on 22.077.0410.0007 (Deferred-ring) and not issues so far (hope all is good...).

That is forwarded internal as I understand.

Info they needed:
• PPT screen recording while reproducing the issue. {Record your screen in PowerPoint (microsoft.com)}
• Sample files URLs or file names with extensions.
• ODB Device ID {From the right bottom tray click on OneDrive cloud> Settings> About}
• ODB Logs ( C:/users/<username>/appdata/local/microsoft/onedrive/logs and Right click and send to zipped folder )
• We need to collect network logs while reproducing the issue ( make ensure that no other apps are running in background ) - CTRL + SHIFT + I > Select Network Tab > Check Preserve logs box > Repro and save HAR file and share with us}
• Please let us know what is the outcome after you follow the steps suggested in the tech community forum.

I will update here asap i got sometinh usefull. Thanks for your input that I'm not the only one!

Best,
Michael
