Google Apps to O365 migration

Just completed Google Apps (Mail, Vault, Drive, Sites) the whole lot to Office 365. A lot of scripting, third party tools, and patience required.

Hi Edgar Vicioso my name is Antonio Vargas, I work for Bittitan. As NunoAriasSilva said the throttling limits with our tool are not the problem. We have the most efficient tool to migrate data out of vault, and the big issue comes from the Vault on the Google side. Long story short the Vault doesn't allow any matters that take more than 24h (times out). But we do have processes to take multiple matters and make sure that, with multiple extractor machines and multi-threading per machine you move all that data out without an issue.       Edgar Vicioso You're in great hand with Antonio Maciel De Vargas. I've worked with him and the BitTitan team. Also if you need help with Google Sites or Drive migration please let me know as I know plenty of folks Down under :-)

      • Google Apps: Inbox, Folders/Labels, Email, Muted Email (as regular email), Contacts, Calendars (including links for Google Hangouts within calendar meetings).

      o    Note: Links for Google Hangouts are a new default feature added to Google Meeting. Microsoft Office 365 doesn't have the corresponding property to map. Therefore, when migrating to Office 365, the links for Google Hangouts are added to the beginning of the meeting description body text on Office 365.

      • Google Drive: Folders, Shared Folders in your Drive, permissions, Google Apps native files except Google Forms, Code Files (Xml, cs, cpp, h, etc.), Documents (docx, doc, odt, csv, pdf, etc.), Images (png, jpg, etc.), Executables (exe), Videos (avi, mp4, etc.), Audio Files (mp3, wave, etc.). Typical Destinations: OneDrive for Business, Google Drive.
      • Google Sites: Files on Google Sites that are of the "File cabinet" page type can be migrated using MigrationWiz to SharePoint Online document libraries. The migration includes both documents and document permissions.​
      • Google Vault (Source Only): Folders, Email

        Hi @Faiza Qadri

         

        Thanks for the very useful information. What would you say are the questions to ask/information to know before this type of migration?

         

        I may be involved in a similar project soon and having never done this before want to make sure I ask the right questions, etc. before starting. And I assume this will also give me an idea of the effort involved?
