Can I go back to Tasks?

Copper Contributor

Long story short, this unwelcomed, inconvenient, and unannounced switching of my tasks to the todo list has ruined my life (and I do not trust that I won't miss deadlines because where's my stuff?!!).

I feel the same way. I use my tasks as a running issues list, making notes on the follow-up steps that sometimes take months over the course of a project, and I truly dislike not being able to open up a task in its own window to take notes. And the To-Do List suggested due dates and reminders are terrible. If someone figures out how to revert, please let me know!

@jkott, I figured it out. Navigate to File >> Options >> Tasks.
uncheck "Open tasks in the To Do app"

@ckargo this didn't work for me

this post did and saved my day!

@Kenny460 Thank you!!  This is exactly what I was looking for.  The new To Do replacing my Tasks was making my life a living hell.

Hi, this forum post is a bit older so I'm not sure if this solution is outdated,

I'm trying to revert the new "planner" tab in microsoft teams to the old tasks list. I cannot locate "file" setting in teams to disable this. I may need some help since a lot of the solutions I'm finding online are for outlook and not teams.

@ckargo apparently that option is not available in my version of Outlook

@Al_Baldwin I don't know what to tell you, this is what my Options Screen looks like under the Tasks section:image.png

@Al_Baldwin

My hunch is folks are running different versions of Outlook, thus the difference in screens.

Try this and see if it works.

My Options screen looks similar to yours and this worked for me.
