Webcam rotation

When I use microsoft teams with my laptop in portrait mode when it is connected to an external display (as main) and an external webcam the camera automatically rotates 90 degrees with the rotation of the laptop display. There does not seem to be any way to stop this from happening appart from switching the laptop display back to landscape. I understand the reasoning of the automatic rotation but this should not happen with an external webcam.
