Toggle Teams Notifications to Do Not Disturb (Temporarily)

Copper Contributor

Let me preface by saying I am a Slack believer, so I really would like Teams to be able to do similar things since I have to use it instead of Slack.
I'm used to being able to toggle my DND (Do not disturb) setting on and off. This allows me to have focused time where my chat isn't pinging me left and right and I can check back into when I'm ready. Slack notifies the sender that you have notifications silenced and gives the option to "notify anyway" if the message is urgent.
I don't want to have to go into my Teams settings to turn off sounds everytime I want to focus, and I'd like to be able to show my teammates that I am online, just trying to focus.

Please add a DND toggle to the status dropdown!

@eschreib2023 Hey, sounds like the perfect use of the 'Do Not Disturb' status and the 'Duration' setting in Teams. This article has a good run-down on how to do it: Change your status in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support

Here's what it looks like on mine:
