Deleting a personal account

Copper Contributor

Hi - I have 2 accounts with different passwords to log in (a personal one and a business one) both using the same email address

I do not use the personal account and want to delete this, I have looked through a number of other conversation threads but cannot find any that clearly explain how to delete a personal account that is not being used and will never be used

thanks

I don't know about deleting, but your best bet might be to change the login name so it doesn't match, then delete if you figure that out later. This link I think will get you to the account name, here you can add a new alias, then make it your primary, then you can remove the old one so it does not conflict anymore:

Here is what I found in regards to closing your account: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12412/microsoft-account-how-to-close-account

But again, I would get your alias out of the system first, incase there is some kind of "recycle bin" or something for that login before deleting.
