Apologies for the delay in responding, hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!
Janine_Barkley External presenters should never join as attendees, provided they use the link sent to them directly. The warning in the email is normal (since this is coming from outside of their organization) - presenters do need to use the Teams desktop application (if they try to use web, it should give them a message indicating such). Q&A doesn't auto-refresh, which is why you need to hit the blue bubble, we're working to improve that experience.
Silke_Primke we do not support breakout rooms with Town hall.
TomiNyman thanks for the feedback, we've heard that for sure and we're working to bring back the end of event green room experience. Did you happen to file any support cases on the external presenter issue or the recording issue?
Shohel-Rana captions are not customizable yet, you get 6 pre-defined selections with base, and 10 pre-defined with premium. We're working on adding selection capabilities for the 40 languages we support with Teams meetings. External attendees are support with Public events only. We're working on brining upvotes (and sorting) to Q&A in Q1CY24. Noted on the attendance report.
Thanks for the detailed feedback from your event - we are working to add support for downloading the Q&A after the event. Live language interpretation is in our backlog, no ETA to share at this time.
kevsworld yes, we will support MTR devices (windows and Android) later this CY as attendees. MTRW as presenter will be available first, followed by MTRW attendee and MTRA presenter/attendee.
taitai thank you for the feedback!
AlexRobillard Have not heard of those Q&A issues specifically, have you filed a support case on them? The advanced presenter layouts are not supported today with Town hall. Yes, we're working on persistent Green Room. Attendee names are visible in the attendance report. Today we do support nudging folks in that were not defined as presenters originally; we will also work to allow for promotion of attendees into the town hall (and optionally promotion to presenter as well). We're working on updating the video layouts used to more closely align with the upcoming gallery changes (16x9 views). Yes, moving the sharing toolbar is coming (and a very common complaint). We're working to embed all of the meeting options into the main scheduling experience.
Greg_Sohl Polls are not yet supported with Town hall. There's no specific reason why folks outside the org cannot see a presenter's video; was the video moved "on screen" in the Manage what attendees see view? That would affect all attendees though, not just external. Attendees cannot unmute currently, this is by design. We're working on support for that later in 2024. Known issue with how email invites are handled today, this is under investigation. When using a public event, that means anonymous attendees are supported - if they join anonymously, then we wouldn't have any name to show in Q&A either. For the attendee list issue, that is not expected and a support case should be opened.
jam-jam247 I am not aware of any expiration with the external presenter links, will circle back with the feature crew on this.
robjderby new Teams is not a requirement for town hall.
alex_ribbo we're working on adding support for Polls this CY.
