Introducing new SharePoint news for email feature

Hello! Is there a way to set the sender to be a specific account like noreply@... or some other shared mailbox?

I love this feature, it has been a game changer. However,  I'd love to see the tracking feature enabled even when forwarded. I manage a shared mailbox which is used to distribute the newsletter. Since I cannot log into SharePoint using the mailbox account, I have to send the newsletter from SharePoint to the shared mailbox and then distribute to several thousand recipients. However,  I would love if we could still track open rates on the email. Please come up with a way to allow use of these metrics from a shared communications mailbox.

I love this feature and use it all the time! One limitation I’ve noticed is the inability to schedule emails like we can in Outlook. Do you know if this feature will be available in the future, similar to most email campaign software?

GrahamKent- Hi Graham. I'm sorry if I'm repeating a previous thread. I tried to look around first. I know several have requested this in other feedback forums (links below). I'm wondering a status, if Microsoft is working to allow a news post to be emailed in a way that the sender shows as a generic mailbox/name, rather than an individual name... without Amplify? Thanks!

Hello, I appreciate this new feature, my issue is trying to measure open, read and CTA rates for emails dispatched. I had researched an option to enable open rates in microsoft admin centre but our IT dept. isn't able to allow this. Some of the third party analytics options are quite expensive. Wondering what others are using for these emails distributed from sharepoint in outlook?

Are there plans to enable Teams Webinar sites to be posted as News after they are published? This would be a valuable feature.

It feels redundant to post a webinar on its own site and then create a separate News/Events page that duplicates the information. One of our objectives is to minimize unnecessary clicks and pages.

Is there any news about the PowerShell site level opt-out possibility that I read about in a previous post, begin September?

All our key users are still angry about this imposed feature that goes against our internal communication policies, and that requires a systematic, counterintuitive "Skip" for each News post.  Moreover, our corporate News templates contain web parts that are not "mailable" and the related warning banners are still disturbing for our users.
So an opt-out solution is urgently needed.

I found some answers from our partners who manage email distribution.

Prior to January 2024, messages sent by a user without a mailbox were sent with a no-reply @ sharepointonline.com address, but the sender name displayed was using the account name.  This was changed in January as it was considered to be a possible vector for spam abuse.  Message Center post 711021 shared notice of this change back in Jan but it's taken this long to fully deploy the new policy.

Well that's no good, LB2024.  At this point, you should go through official channels to escalate for support.

If you haven't done that before, you can get instructions here, but know that you'll need an admin from your tenant to help out.
