Deploying Office 365 via Intune - issue after Office Update
Hello, We deployed Windows 10 PC by using Microsoft Intune. We use the Windows 10/Office 365 app profile to deploy Office 365 on these PC. After the enrollment of the Windows 10 device, Office Pro...

Microsoft 365 Business comes with Office 365 Business (not ProPlus), so this is an expected behavior as i have read somewhere else. Although i thought it would uninstall previous version and install Business one, but it seems it is not.

wroot and Emmanuel705 you do have to configure the policy to remove previous installations. This is a non-Microsoft article but really well done with screenshots of the whole process plus an alternative distribution method. https://www.itpromentor.com/deploy-office-m365b/
- wrootMay 03, 2019Silver ContributorActually i was referring to this person's (Alex from itpromentor) comment on other thread where he mentioned that ProPlus installation should revert to Business once it pulls the license information. The article you have linked to describes how to install Office and remove preinstalled MSI or C2R Office. But author of this thread doesn't have preinstalled Office. They are installing it via Intune. But they install ProPlus. Then it pulls license information (or during regular update) and installs Business version along ProPlus. In the article there is no mention or a screen where you can choose to install Business version instead of ProPlus. Maybe he just skipped that part. I think there should be additional setting to select what version to install. Or maybe this is done in config.office.com and then this config is imported into Intune to install proper version instead of default ProPlus.

Hi,
We finally deployed an Intune profile to uninstall Office ProPlus and a new profile (App type Office 365 Suite/Windows 10) by using ODT XML file to configure Office Business instead of Office ProPlus.
The pro : the right version of Office is now deployed
The cons : we cannot include Teams with this deployment method.
- wrootMay 07, 2019Silver ContributorHuh. Can you clarify for me a bit. When you create ODT XML you can't select Teams there? Or when you create an Intune profile with XML, you can't adjust Office apps selection then?
