Adding Staff with administrator privileges

I have added a member of staff with administrator privileges and he has accepted.  His status is Bookable.  However, on his end if he tries to access the calendar he gets the following message:

Your request can't be completed right now.  Please try again later.

Is there a way of fixing this so he can access the calendar as I am away next week?
