By Seth Patton, General Manager, Microsoft 365 Next Gen Productivity & Employee Experience
Last month we announced Microsoft Viva, the first Employee Experience Platform for the digital era. Today we are pleased to share a set of exciting news and updates across the four Viva modules, summarized below.
We’re excited to announce that Viva Learning will enter public preview in April 2021.
We are also showcasing a set of new Viva Learning features, such as: How to use the Teams Admin Center to manage Viva Learning across an organization, how Viva Learning leverages data from the Microsoft Graph to surface relevant recommendations and search results, the latest walkthrough of Viva Learning in a live tenant environment, and more.
Starting in March, the Microsoft Teams desktop experience for Viva Connections - which provides a curated, company-branded experience including news, conversations and other resources for employees - will begin rolling out to all customers as part of their existing Microsoft 365 license. Viva Connections provides a personalized experience that centralizes relevant news and conversations. Deploy easily as it's fully integrated in the apps and devices your teams are already using, like Microsoft Teams. SharePoint, and Yammer. Discover how you can shape culture and foster communication to help your teams thrive and how you can get started now.
Viva Insights, now in public preview, gives individuals, managers, and leaders personalized and actionable privacy-protected insights that help everyone in an organization thrive. Starting next month, the virtual commute experience we announced last year will begin rolling out as part of the Microsoft Viva Insights app to help you mindfully wrap up your workdays. Also rolling out starting April, the new Home tab will make it seamless to stay on top of pending tasks, reflect on your feelings, send praise to your colleagues and take a breathing break anytime during the workday—all without leaving Teams.
Viva Topics, now available, applies AI to empower people with knowledge in the apps they use every day, automatically organizing content and expertise across your systems and teams to create topics with built-in security, compliance and workflow.
We’re continuing to innovate, and our next updates will add new capabilities to surface topic answers inside Microsoft Search via Microsoft Bing. We’ll also begin introducing topic cards and highlights to Microsoft Teams through pages in the Viva Connections desktop app for Teams.
