Support Tip: Intune Company Portal updates for Mac with Microsoft AutoUpdate

Here’s a tip for ensuring you're always on the latest version of the Intune Company Portal for macOS and taking advantage of new features and fixes that are released with each update. Intune Company Portal releases updates every month and the next update to the Intune Company Portal will be released in early December 2018. When this happens, only end users that have the latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate (4.5.0) will be able to see the notification to update to the new Intune Company Portal version. End users on devices that do not have the latest Company Portal version can continue to use it as they normally would. They will, however, not be able to avail of new features and bug fixes in the latest version.


Note that your end users may have already upgraded to version 4.5.0 of Microsoft AutoUpdate for Mac since this is required to update any Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook. This latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate is available from the download link in Release history for Microsoft AutoUpdate. Microsoft AutoUpdate provides updates to various Mac products from Microsoft so you’ll likely receive a notification to update Microsoft AutoUpdate even if you're not running Office for Mac.  If end users with Mac devices do not have Microsoft AutoUpdate configured, you can request that they do this by following the directions here: Update Office for Mac automatically
