Hi, I'm seeing an issue with Teams where I cannot chat with Skype users. For context we currently have NO users in Teams (except myself for testing), and I'm using a personal email to log into regular Skype (not Skype for Business). The purpose of this is to simulate what it would be like if we turned Teams on for all ours sales members and they were communicating with a client, many of which use Skype. So far I changed 2 Org wide settings to see if I could get this to work Under Teams Upgrade -> Teams Only (nobody uses Teams yet so this was easy) Under External Access ->Users can communicate with other Skype for Business and Teams users (ON) Users can communicate with Skype users (ON) Even with those settingschanged over 72 hours ago it still does not work. Teams successfullyrecognizes that I am contacting an external Skype user, and Skype recognizes that I am contacting a Teams user. However when sending a message from Skype it seems to work but nothing appears in Teams. However sending a Teams chat to Skype fails after tying for a few seconds. Calls don't work at all either way. Hi. I'm trying to set External access for Teams, but via powershell. Specifically the"Users can communicate with Skype users" option. I can successfully set the "Users can communicate with other Skype for Business and Teams users", but I can't find a solution for the other option ("Users can communicate with Skype users"). I have read numbers of blog postings, tutorials for the mentioned subject but it just doesn't work, the option won't switch. Most mentioned powershell command for doing it, is the following: Set-CsExternalAccessPolicy -EnableOutsideAccess $False Set-CsExternalAccessPolicy -EnableFederationAccess $False Set-CsExternalAccessPolicy -EnablePublicCloudAccess $False Set-CsExternalAccessPolicy -EnablePublicCloudAudioVideoAccess $False And while the script changes the targeted parameters successfully, the switch in the GUI still remains in "ON" position. I Have set the switch to the "OFF" position by hand, but underlying parameters quoted in code block above, haven't changed (their values retrieved with Get-CsExternalAccessPolicy powershell command. So, from that, it seems that those commands aren't for that option after all.. Any help is appreciated. Br19KViews0likes11CommentsMTR and sign in : server cannot be reached

I have an annoying problem, which prevents me from communicating with my clients: 1. I look for an external user from my Teams client. 2. The chat initially comes up with the correct person, but at the bottom says something like "due to org policy changes, certain functions are no longer allowed, click here to switch" and it switches to the external user's address with a skype logo on it. 3. The message i then send to that user says "This user is unavailable or offline. We've sent an email instead." I know that this user can communicate correctly and is online, but my messages never get through. 4. My organization is set for Teams only. Can you tell me what i'm doing wrong? Communications with a different client go through correctly - not with a skype logo. Is this a setting i need to update or have the external client update?1.4KViews0likes1CommentSkype (not for Business) to Teams
Hi all, It can be there is aleady an answer but I couldnĀ“t find it so far. In my company it has been used Skype (not for Business) for many years, so, all my colleagues here have several contacts saved, especially contacts from external companies. Now we wanted to start using Teams, but the problem is, how to import all those contacts into Teams ? Thanks2.5KViews0likes3CommentsTeams to skype messages and vice versa
We are currently using SFB (Skype for business) and are planning to migrate to Teams. The issue is we need our receptionists to have desk phones because it makes calling and transferring so much easier because they have expansion modules (sidecars) that you can use (example Yealink T48G with EXP40), which works well with SFB. As far as I know, there is currently no phone manufacturer that has an expansion module that supports Teams (The Yealink T56A supports Teams, but not with the EXP50 module). So we are thinking of converting all our users to Teams including the receptionists, and have everyone use Teams on the desktop but leave the physical desk phones logged in using SFB. When we tested it though it didn't work as I hoped, the user could not transfer calls from her desk phone (again, SFB) to anyone that uses Teams on the desktop or tablet (we tested Islands Mode and Teams Only mode). Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation? Teams users cannot communicate (chat or phone) with SFB and vice versa? If not, any suggestions? Thanks.3.3KViews0likes13Comments
