Exchange 2016 on premise activesync mobile clients : basic authentication and CBA

In Exchange 2010 we had basic authentication and certificate based authentication activesync clients.   

The CBA was on a separate IP address and IIS site.  Why can/should we not do this in Exchange 2016?
