How can I store excel and word documents on a web server for viewing and downloading in an office format?

I have tried Wordpress, Web and Apple Dreamweaver.   Still working Dreamweaver but Wordpress and Web.com cannot store office format only pdf.  Converting office files to pdf works but they cannot be resaved in an office format from the host.   Is there a host that can store office files in their original format?  Or an option in Office?
