Vertical text in Excel
I would like to be able to write vertical text in an Excel for Mac 2011 spreadsheet. I tried highlighting the appropriate row, "right clicking" it in the number field on the left, clicking "Format cells," clicking the Alignment tab, clicking the vertical "Text" in the Orientation field, and clicking OK. I also tried all the foregoing, but instead of clicking the vertical "Text," I specified "-90 degrees" in the bottom box in the Orientation field and then clicked OK, but in both cases, when I tried to write in the cells of the row, I got normal (horizontal) text. Why isn't this working for me? Tx.

Hi David,
Strange, it shall work. While you are typing it'll be horizontal, after you hit Enter it formats on vertical.
