Sum function with text vs count if

Hi. I am building a spreadsheet that can add how many days my coworkers have been active, sick, etc. I created scroll down lists with each status, and created 31 sheets for the month. A final sheet adds everything for a monthly summary. However, I cannot sum the text values with count.if or sum.if. Is it possible to do so? I attached a screenshot of the spreadsheet. The values I want to add at the final sheet are the ones under "Estado", specifically "Activo". For example, if the first person on the list counts 28 days as active, the final sheet will show that value under "total de días trabajados" for each person. That's where I am stuck.
