Setting the font and size of numbers and letters so that they all become, for example, Arial 12 size

How do I set a default (for entire worksheet) font and size so that as I enter date, or type headings, they show up on screen as Arial 14 (for example).  Right now, anything I type is shown as Cabrini or something else I don't want.
