My paste special - values is grayed out as an option. I have already checked to make sure its right in my settings and it is.

Walk us through what has preceded getting to the point where "Paste Special Values" is grayed out.
You don't get to Paste Special in a vacuum. Something--some steps or other--have to have come first. What are they?
