Ms Office professional Plus 2021 - Version 2309
Windows 10 Pro 22H2
I face problem in all excel file including new file to set the calculation option to Automatic as the default
rest all other office apps working fine
I changed to set the calculation option to Automatic as the default.
once I closed the excel and reopen it again the same problem on there(it turns calculation option to Manual)
So kindly look into the problem

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:
- Excel Options:
- Open Excel.
- Click on the "File" tab.
- Click "Options" to access Excel Options.
- In Excel Options, go to the "Formulas" tab.
- Ensure that "Automatic" is selected in the dropdown for "Workbook Calculation."
- Click "OK" to save the settings. I think you already do this.
- Registry Edit (Advanced):
- If Excel continues to revert to Manual calculation, you can try editing the Windows Registry. This should be done with caution, as it involves making changes to your system settings.
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\ in the left pane.
- Find the folder corresponding to your Excel version (e.g., Excel for Excel 2021).
- Inside the Excel folder, look for a subfolder called Options.
- If the Options folder does not exist, create it by right-clicking on the Excel folder, selecting "New" > "Key," and naming it "Options."
- Inside the Options folder, right-click in the right pane, select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value," and name it CalculationMode.
- Double-click on CalculationMode and set its value to 1 (which corresponds to Automatic calculation).
- Click "OK" to save the value.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Repair Office Installation:
- Sometimes, issues like this can be caused by corrupted Office installations. You can try repairing your Office installation:
- Go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features."
- Select "Microsoft Office" and click "Change."
- Choose "Repair" and follow the prompts to repair your Office installation.
- Update Office:
- Ensure that your Microsoft Office installation is up-to-date with the latest updates and patches. Outdated software can sometimes lead to unexpected issues.
- Check for Add-ins or Macros:
- Add-ins or macros in Excel can sometimes interfere with settings. Temporarily disable any add-ins or macros and see if that resolves the issue.
- Check for Group Policy Settings:
- If your computer is part of a network managed by an IT department, there may be Group Policy settings that are affecting Excel. Check with your IT department for any policies related to Excel settings.
- Try a Different User Profile:
- Create a new user profile on your computer and see if Excel behaves differently when used from that profile. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your user profile.
Please remember to back up your data and be cautious when making changes to the Windows Registry. The text and the steps are the result of various AI's put together.
