Formula and Functions

I have a value from a previous Copy and Paste operation that keeps appearing in a cell when trying to enter a new value. I can erase the value from the cell and then reenter the data. But I want to clear out the Paste value so that I don't have to continue to go through this two-step process every time I enter a new value to the cell.

I'm using Excel 2016.

This is probably Autocomplete. Is that value by any chance in any of the cells above the one you are entering data into? To turn off Autocomplete:
    1.Click File > Options.
2.Click Advanced, and then under Editing options, select or clear the Enable AutoComplete for cell values check box to turn this option on or off.
