excel spreadsheet cell won't accept my entry

I have created a spreadsheet with columns listing date, dollar value, donor name.  I have inserted a new column to list the receipt number.  All was going well until receipt 91, when I enter 91 in the cell it takes me to receipt 19.  I tried to enter 92 and it takes me to receipt 57.
