Excel Online - Row numbers missing?

Hi,

I've just opened an Excel sheeting online and noticed the row numbers are missing?  Thinking this might be specific to a particular spreadsheet I created a new one and the same issue is present, it looks like a view configuration issue but there aren't many settings in Excel Online so I am not sure what has caused it.  I've tried clearing out cookies and using a different browser but the issue is still present.

Any help gratefully received.

Rob

  • Rob-CTL  We have encountered the exact same viewport issue, and have managed to find a possible fix to this.

    These were our steps:

    1. Open the Spreadsheet with the missing row indicators.
    2. On the Navigation Banner, go to VIEW > "Open" Group Section
    3. Within the Group Section, click the "New Window" button.
    4. When the New Window opens, the rows should already be showing again, but we want to sync the row views back to the main view, so make any random entry into any cell.
    5. The New Window will auto-save the change. You can close the New Window.
    6. Back on the original screen, refresh the page.
    7. Your rows should now be present again.

Go to the excel view tab & check the headings option if it is unchecked under the show tab...Rob-CTL

Thanks for the reply JBrinkMSZA strangely the issue has disappeared and the row numbers are back but I'll keep a note of your advice in case it happens again.
