Error on "Analysis Data" fuction

Hi, 

 

When I hit the "Analyze Data" button under the "Home" tab, it shows and error message as follows, "We can't start this feature because it isn't set up properly." Please advise how to fix this. Thank you.

    Go to Windows settings, click on Apps, scroll down to Microsoft Office and click on it. Click the Modify button and select to do an online repair.

      Unfortunately this didn't fix it for me. I tried the following:

      • Removed Office 365, also used the MS Office 'scrubber', then reinstalled but no joy.
      • Enabled, disabled added the Analysis Toolpack in Options, Add-ins, Excel Addins
      • Deleted the HKCU registry
      • I logged on as myself and it worked OK so concluded it was the user's profile. I removed and recreated the profile but that had no effect. I therefore conclude that some Excel system settings still persist in the registry.

      I am going to rebuild the laptop. What a pain.

        AndyChips That is bad indeed. Have you tried deleting the Excel entry in the registry (it gets recreated when you launch Excel again)?

        1. Close Excel
        2. Delete Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel
        3. Start Excel
