Error message when entering IF function in Excel

When entering IF function I receive the following feedback: "Are you trying to enter a formula?" Please see attachment.

 

Need urgent help as I have lots of data to process.

    Hi Awie,

     

    That's usual message when you try to enter incorrect formula, could be lot of reasons. Could you please share the formula itself which you try to add?
