Automatic Updating of XL on Web

Copper Contributor

Hi,  I'm not sure if what I am after is even possible but I have made an XL file which automatically sorts a table and puts the sorted information into a new table in a new sheet.  I would like to put this new sheet onto a webpage and have it update as the sheet is updated.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks,

Yes, you can achieve this using OneDrive or SharePoint and Excel Online.

Here's how it works-

  1. Save your Excel file to your OneDrive or SharePoint account. This will make it accessible online.
  2. Share the Excel file with the appropriate permissions so that others can access it. (if needed)
  3. Launch Excel Online and open the Excel file. You can either choose "Open in Excel Online" from the context menu when you right-click the file or go to the file in your OneDrive/SharePoint account and click it.
  4. In Excel Online, go to the "File" menu, then select "Publish to Web". It will generate a link that you can share.
  5. This Excel Online workbook can now be embedded into a webpage. You can either create a page with the embedded workbook using a tool like SharePoint or you can embed it directly into the page using an iframe HTML tag.

Any changes made to the Excel file will automatically be reflected in the workbook that is embedded on the webpage.

I hope this helps!
