Hey there, Insiders! This week’s update is pretty quiet, but we did want to touch on one item on here we know y’all are really excited about, history sync (and open tabs sync). The team is still working on bringing history sync to the browser, however we are not quite yet ready to share an update at this time. We expect to have more details in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out here for those. For now, we are leaving the status as Planned for Summer.

I'm glad you finally made a sidebar for Favorites! Please make this available for History and Downloads and Edge will FINALLY be on the direction to become a good browser!
Sidebars are great for keeping you in your workflow instead of being as obtrusive as fullscreen menus. And please let us pin the Downloads and History buttons to the toolbar too! As of now, you can only do so with Favorites, but there's not much of a point since the Favorites bar exists.
Is there anywhere a post of what's new/changed in new Android Edge Beta versions? All year there's been odd updates, but apart from the added collections, and the fact that Edge://flags is now accessible - but with ONE available flag as compared with Google Chrome's 300 - I can never see any differences, Had two supposed updates in the last few days, and again can't see anything different. Certainly nothing has been done about the missing features which are critical for me, and without which I cannot use Android Edge at all, which then also means I won't use Desktop Edge as I need desktop and phone browsers that fully work together.
Even Android Edge's user agent hasn't budged from saying it's Chromium 77 all year, while the desktop Edge and its beta, and desktop Google Chrome and Android Chrome and their betas have all versioned up in lockstep.
Do you actually have someone working on Android Edge at all apart from the little burst of adding collections? If you do, it needs to be a bigger team with more resources and a much greater sense of urgency.
@edspar Appreciate the kind question. 🙂 We had posted several months ago about how we needed to work on some architecture changes we weren't expecting initially. Hopefully Clark's post there will help you understand a bit more on the delay.

@DavidGB The mobile team has been focusing their efforts on converging current mobile Edge with desktop. We hope to have more details around those plans in the near future. We understand this is important to users (and ourselves!), and my direct team has been talking about how to best share with y'all the feedback items for mobile. We do appreciate y'all's patience while we work on bringing everything up to parity with each channel and platform. 🙂

Most of these feedbacks can be implemented as apps or web extensions for the browsers. Instead of cluttering the Edge browser with so much stuff. I'm just concern the browser would take forever to load with a million features installed..
I am a student using the text note function on PDF in the old edge. Because every day I need to read several papers and record what I think and what is important. The only reason that I can not abandon the old edge is that the new edge doesn't have this function. Please add this function soon, I think many students or researchers like me are waiting for this.
