Microsoft Edge "Save as" function not working for pdfs

Good day. Since the last Edge update, I have not been able to save pdf files(editable pdf). Before when you click save as, and enter a new name, the page referred to the new name. but now, the page refreshes, the content is the new content but the file name remains the same

Please, does anyone know how to solve the issue?

enato007 Microsoft Print to PDF works, but it renders the whole page as a bitmap, with no OCR. I had the same issue until I installed Java (I opted for the https://docs.aws.amazon.com/corretto/latest/corretto-21-ug/downloads-list.html version); now Save As PDF works fine, and fast.

ALL OF THE BELOW OCCURS ON WINDOWS 11:

This is still an issue!!! The full extent of the issue is described as below as I use Microsoft Edge to edit PDF documents every day.

If you open a PDF document in the Edge browser, it will open normally. However, the catch is that when you want to save the document to your system, clicking the 'Save as' button and setting the name to whatever you want it to be will not force the tab to reload with the new name as it always has. It is as if you haven't saved anything, and you will only be able to check if the document has saved properly by going to where you saved it. This is very frustrating when you have many PDF documents open at once and want to save them all individually with different names, as I do this daily.

The next big issue is when using Edge's built-in annotator, the document will save when you click on the button, but when you close and re-open it, the asterisk re-appears in the tab of the opened document which only signifies that changes have yet to be saved... but we just saved that document and opened it again. I have tried re-opening the document multiple times just in case it takes a bit longer to save, but this does not change anything. What forces the document to be saved immediately is either renaming the document to something different or moving it to some place else.

Another issue that occurs is when opening some PDF documents directly from Microsoft Outlook Client, they open with the asterisk already in the document name on the tab, and when there is more than 1 page, only the first page shows content whereas the others are blank. The reason I know this is a problem with Edge and not Outlook is that saving the document straight away to my system without opening it in Edge first, and THEN opening it on Edge, allows for all of the content that was previously blank, to now show fully.

And lastly, sometimes when opening PDF documents directly from Microsoft Outlook Client, there are annotations from a previously edited document showing all over the place. Again, an Edge issue because they were annotated using Edge.

Disastrous update from Microsoft, a lot of random bugs that shouldn't have even existed and they have yet to even take notice after weeks!!!

    GET. IT. SORTED.

I am glad to see I am not the only one having this issue! Can someone help us figure out why it may be happening? enato007

Also seeing this issue when opening PDFs with Edge. Saving the PDFs does not work, and print preview renders the previously saved PDF data.

It appears that creating a new profile fixes the issue, but that is not a good fix! Issue came with 114.

I'm not so sure the issue just cropped up in 114. I've seen the issue intermittently before, but I could always remove focus from the screen, and then alt tab back to make it work. Now, the only solution to get Edge back is the task manager End Task and restore windows/tabs. Then, I might get lucky and it will download, but it's about a 1 in 10 chance. Mostly it just repeats the cycle. Sadly, Chrome works just fine.

enato007 I am having the same issue. It appears it does save the new updated file under the new name but doesn't refresh the working tab's title.
