Edge Chromium support for Windows Server 2016 (SAC)
We have an RDS solution which has been in place for a few years using Windows Server 2016 hosted in Azure. We are not using the LTSB servicing model (now referred to as LTSC) just using the regular semi-annual channel (SAC). At the time we didn't install Edge as it wasn't supported and from the documentation it looks like this is still the case, only LTSC version of 2016 is supported. (and as above we are using SAC not LTSC)

Can anyone confirm if Edge Chromium is supported on Windows 2016 (SAC) as we have an urgent request to disable IE11 and install Edge Chromium instead.
There is a an entry in the table:
Windows Server (SAC)
so potentially this means any version of Windows using SAC is supported for use with Edge?
Update 16/12 - Microsoft support have confirmed its supported:
As per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-supported-operating-systems Edge Chromium is supported on Windows Server 2016(SAC) with the same mention as for Windows 10 (SAC):
*** In the same fashion as above, for Windows 10 SAC releases that are out of support but Microsoft Edge is supported it is recommended to upgrade to a supported Win10 SAC release as soon as possible to remain secure. Microsoft Edge being supported in this state should be considered a temporary bridge to getting to a supported OS state.
Note: Some Edge Chromium functionalities might become dependent on Windows Server Update Level. As you are on 2016(SAC) those updates will not reach you. This is why our recommendation remains to update the OS level in order to keep your system secured and working as expected.
