Connection error 0x83886167

Copper Contributor

I'm facing an error when trying to connect users to a workplace machine in a host poll.
It used to work before, but now it is displaying this error:

Error code: 0x83886167
Extended error code: 0x0
Activity Id: ID {b0080e8e-1357-493a-88b7-eb95bf1f0000}

Does anyone knows how to solve this?

  1. Navigate to the Storage Account:
    • Go to your Azure portal and select the storage account that contains the file share(s).
  2. Access Control Settings:
    • In the storage account, find the “File shares” section.
  3. Assign Permissions:
    • Under “Profiles,” select “Access Control.”
    • Click “Add Role” and choose “Storage file data SMB share Elevated Contributor.”
  4. Specify Users or Groups:
    • Assign this role to the affected users or groups.

Remember that full administrative control of a file share (including taking ownership of a file) requires using the storage account key, which isn’t supported with identity-based authentication. If you encounter any issues, feel free to ask for further assistance! 😊

Also, the update might take around 20 minutes. Once done, you can try connecting, and your issue should be resolved. Let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with.
