Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta for Mac Cannot Screenshare or Screenshot

macOS Monterey 12.0.1 on a new 14" M1 Pro MacBook 14"

Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta (MRD Beta) will allow sharing of the Connection Center window in Zoom, Teams, etc. but not an active workspace, instead displaying a blank white screen on the remotely connected computer. Also, screenshots using any of the standard Mac keyboard shortcuts or using Preview will not display the MRD Beta in the screenshot/file created, instead showing whatever is behind the workspace window.

All of the above works for MRD downloaded from the Mac App Store. Both the App Store and Beta versions have identical settings in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy. 'Allow apps downloaded from' is set to 'App Store and identified developers'.

Thanks for the info LvrMsc - I've since tested doing a screen share using Teams and Zoom and all's OK now.

As we have a few Apple Silicon Mac users on this thread, has anyone experienced the problem reported here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-virtual-desktop/mac-remote-desktop-crashing-when-copying/idi-p/2817607

Any input would be appreciated as we're now using Windows 11 on Parallels for our Workspace access as the copy/crash problem within FileMaker is interfering too much with our development work.

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

Also, screenshots using any of the standard Mac keyboard shortcuts or using Preview will not display the MRD Beta in the screenshot/file created, instead showing whatever is behind the workspace window.

That part is fixed today within 10.7.2 #1948.

Don't know yet for the remaining issues of this thread.

LiangBo745 I think your idea is very good, I also tried to find these settings in the settings, but unfortunately, there is no

It would be nice if MRD provides an option to enable / disable screen capture protection.

This is a dedicated Beta app, the shipping version can be downloaded free of charge from the Mac App Store and doesn’t suffer from these problems.

Same issue – I updated to MacOS Monterey (12.0.1) today and that's when this issue started for me. When I try to take screenshots with the OS (shift+command+3 OR shift+command+4) on Mac, the Remote Desktop (beta) window is invisible and only content below is captured.

Also, why is this app still Beta – it's been that way for years?!
