Adding a field to a pre existing access form but it stacks the fields

When I add a field to an existing form it auto attaches it to the previously added field and just stacks them.  How do I split the added field away from the other fields?

The following steps should enable you to add fields freely to your form:

1. Select the group of stacked fields.

2. Select Remove Layout from the Arrange-tab.
